Yunokami Onsen Station is the only station with a thatched roof existing nowadays in Japan. It also has a fire-hearth inside the waiting room and is surrounded by cherry blossoms all over. It is the gateway to Ouchi-juku. Ouchijiku is a post town that has been carefully restored to look like it used to be in the Edo period. It is famous for its long street with thick thatched roof houses, most of them being shops, restaurants or minshukus (family run inns). The village is also famous for its soba noodles and char fish roasted on sticks.
